Halloween is coming up!! After much pondering and scanning through slutty costumes (not that I want a slutty costume, that's just all they have because girls apparently are expected to be sluts. I seriously saw a sexy bumblebee costume...what on earth is sexy about a bumblebee? Ouch. I suppose if you're into pain?...not going there. haha) Oh right, I never finished that statement. I have decided to be Betty Boop. Yep, I have to rush out tomorrow to buy a red dress and some heels and figure out how to make spit curls...(for any of you uneducated people, spit curls are not made with spit, unless you're just gross).
This weekend is also homecoming, and tomorrow is the book exchange!! I get very excited about old books because, not only do I get something new to read, but because the books smell fantastic. If they made a cologne called "old book smell," whatever man wore it would have me in a second. haha.
I have also realized what a gigantic klutz I am. I never thought of myself as a klutz, but after tripping over cracks in the sidewalk twice today and then falling UP the stairs, I think I have to come to terms with the fact that I am indeed a dorky klutz. It's so embarassing because this guy saw me, and he just laughed. Sad I know. *Cue violin* Hey wait, I play the violin. *Cue self* Also, chivalry is dead. I was walking into the Brooks Center with bags of snacks for orchestra rehearsal, and I was struggling and about to drop everything. I actually did drop the apple juice, but he just stared and walked off. Thanks a lot guy in the parking lot, geez.
Beautiful Thing #1: This is a banana. It was on the sidewalk as I was walking out of Spanish Lab. For some reason, I felt rather sad for this lonely, brown banana, so I decided to give it life forever by putting its picture in my blog. The banana was gone when I walked past this spot again. Let us all take a moment of silence for him...
Beautiful Thing #2: The sunset as I was walking back from my 500 mile journey across campus today. No matter how insane some days can be, it is nice to just take a moment to be in awe of nature. Picture is posted on the side of the page, because I didn't want the banana to be outshined.
Beautiful Thing #3: Catching up with old friends. Even after years, I can still talk to them like time hasn't passed at all. Friends are a gift. Thanks God.
I feel alive. Things still hurt, but waking up is more a gift than a curse now. I don't know what the future holds for me, and I love it. Even though it's been beat up, my heart's still beating like a hammer.
